Flamenco Dance
Everybody can dance.
Everybody can dance flamenco. Doesn't matter how old you are, doesn't matter if you already have any experience dancing or not. You can just start right now and see how powerful dance can be. In these classes, we work on basic flamenco technique (footwork, arms and hands), palmas (clapping the rhythm), and choreography. You can also learn how to dance with a flamenco fan, shawl, and play castanets. To keep in touch with what is happening in the flamenco world, we also watch videos of important flamenco artists and discuss them. It is a wonderful way to get inspiration for our own dance, too. Usually, we are part of showcase performances twice a year, which is an excellent opportunity to be on stage and show what you have learned. |
CastanetsLEARN HOW TO PLAY THE AMAZING PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT This class is FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED IN MUSIC, PERCUSSION and FLAMENCO DANCE Castanets are a percussion instrument and in flamenco they are normally played by the dancers. Usually we can see the castanets used in specifics rhythm like seguiriyas and sevillanas. |
Beyond the shoesIn these meetings we explore the musical universe of flamenco art letting each palo (style) stimulate our emotions and intuitive expression. We leave the shoes aside and focus on the movements of the body. Without worrying about following a choreography, we give space to create our own dance. This intuitive dance uses movements that come from the inside. Inspired by the music, the body dances the content and not the form. Thus, the soul is released to express itself freely through the body without the interference of the mind. We dance away from any thoughts, judgments or prejudices and practice being present with our intuitive selves. |
